Why Do We Categorize and Tag Our Posts?

Like I explained on the previous post, categorising is a great way to organise your posts. If you put them into categories, would be easier for you and for your readers to look for posts about “Money” or about “Love” for example.

Other than categorising, putting tags on your posts is also a very good practice. Like categorising, it is also a way to manage your posts but just using narrower key words. With tags you used phrases or words that are about or mentioned in the post. Below is an example.

The two practices I mentioned is not only a good way to manage your blog, it also helps Search Engines to better determine important keywords about your posts therefore when you place tags on your posts or when you categorise them, you are like helping Search Engines to point to your site for keyword searches that are found in your blog.

Update for BlogLeafs Users

I am sorry for not updating this blog for a long time. I got caught up with my other blogs plus the holiday season. Anyway, since this blog is aimed to teach my friends about how to use Wordpress about how to earn money from their blogs someday, I will give them some more tips on how to go about their Wordpress blog.

Using Wordpress: Create your About Me page: To do this, follow the following;

1. Log in to your blog.
2. Go to “Manage”
3. When you click on “Manage”, you should be able to see a submenu and from this submenu click “Pages”.
4. After clicking “Pages”, click “Edit” to edit the About Page

Most of the time, readers would like to know who is behind a blog so starting writing about yourself on the “About Me” page.

Monetising your Blog: Believe me, I am earning more than 500$ a month. I know you have your jobs but in case you would like to earn extra cash then monetising your blog is a good way. But before you can monetise your blog, your blog have to meet certain requirements. Some of which are :

1. Your blog should have about 20 posts already to be able to register in blog advertising networks.
2. Your blog should be at least 3 months old. But some advertising networks accept younger blogs if the blog have sufficient number of posts and good ranks.

I have notice that most of you are not updating your blogs. That is not good. 2 posts per week is ideal. In a month, you’ll have 8 posts and in two-and-a half-month time, you’ll be able to join this blog advertising networks (Payperpost.com, SponsoredReview.com, Loudlaunch.com, etc). I also advise you to continuously visit this blog and my other blogs as well to learn more on how you can monetise your blog.

Goodluck.
